Dr. Hellman is a Board Certified Dermatologist, who in
addition to general medical dermatology, sub-specializes in
Dermatological Surgery, Laser surgery and anti-aging skin
treatments. Dr. Hellman received her B.A. Magna Cum Laude
from Boston’s Berklee College of Music. After graduating, she
went on to complete her premedical training at Wellesley
College, where she was on the Dean’s List. Subsequently she
attended the Mount Sinai School of Medicine and received her
MD in 1989. After an internship in Internal Medicine at New
York’s Beth Israel Medical Center, she completed
her residency in Dermatology at SUNY Stony Brook,
where she was selected as Chief Resident in Dermatology. From
1992, Dr. Hellman spent several years training in the surgical
treatment of skin cancers and in the use of lasers for various
skin conditions at the prestigious Long Island Laser CosmediCenter.
Dr. Hellman became Board Certified in
Dermatology in 1994. She is currently an Assistant Professor
in the Department of Dermatology at Mt Sinai Medical Center,
and has authored numerous papers for medical journals on a
variety of topics.

says Dr. Hellman. “I come in contact with many people on a
daily basis, which I enjoy tremendously. It also allows me to
utilize the fine motor skills which I developed during my
musical training in performing surgical and aesthetic
procedures of all kinds. I especially enjoy helping my
patients improve their appearance in relatively short periods
of time, boosting their self-esteem, and giving them the
confidence they need to feel that they can go out and conquer
the world. This is the greatest gratification a physician can
hope for.”
Dr. Hellman has been in private practice in
New York City since 1993. She is fluent in English, Hebrew and
Hungarian. She is a fellow of the American Academy of
Dermatology, American Society for Laser Surgery and Medicine,
Dermatologic Society of Greater New York and others. She is
affiliated with the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York,
and has been a guest on various radio and TV programs as well
as interviewed in a variety of magazines on medical and
cosmetic dermatology topics.
 Our Aesthetician
We are happy to introduce Ildy, our aesthetician, who has joined the practice recently.
Ildy is a licensed skin care specialist in NY, who graduated the Skin Care Institute in Budapest, Hungary in 1990. She was trained in the famed skin care tradition of Hungary, which is well known throughout Europe. Ildy worked several years to gain clinical experience and in 1995 she obtained a master level skin care license.
Ildy specializes in the use of natural pharmaceautical ingredients to achieve a healthy, flawless complexion, as well as prevent and treat the signs of aging. She continues to attend educational seminars and is experienced in lymph biology, electro-facial stimulation, microdermabrasion and other facial techniques. She also has a Master level training in make-up application, specializing in the use of mineral make-up.
Ildy has a holistic approach to skin care, and is knowledgeable and gentle. Her treatments leave our patients wanting for more! She can help improve and treat all skin types, from acne prone and oily, to dry or sensitive.
