This revolutionary new and hot technology is ideal for treating rosacea, acne, uneven or dark pigmentation, wrinkles, and facial veins. The Aurora couples IPL technology with radiofrequency, which allows the use of lower light energy, making it the safest IPL available for the skin's surface. The use of radiofrequency also means that the Aurora can safely perform hair removal from even the darkest skin, and is of great help in the resolution of shaving bumps that effect so many women as well as men. This unique system also is able to remove unwanted hair that is blonde or light in color. The treatments are easily tolerated, with only a slight tingling feeling, and sometimes the sensation of a simple pinch, and side effects are exceedingly rare. This is the latest and greatest wonder in the field of non-invasive skin rejuvenation and treatment of wrinkles, acne scars, stretch marks, enlarged pores, sagging, and aging skin! This exciting new laser technology combines two different wavelengths and fractional technology to help skin appear younger, smoother and tighter.

Similar to Fraxel (fractional resurfacing), the Affirm Multiplex stimulates new collagen production and helps smooth superficial lines and scars in the skin. A second simultaneous wavelength delivers heat directly to the deeper skin layers to produce instant contraction of the collagen and firmer, tighter skin with reduced sagging over time. The combined wavelengths and lower energy levels maximize effectiveness and translate into greatly reduced discomfort as compared with Fraxel treatments. Since the skin between the laser microspots remains intact, the healing process is much shorter compared with traditional skin resurfacing.

Unlike Fraxel, Affirm entails minimal to no downtime. Patients generally experience sunburn like redness, which can be easily covered with make-up. Affirm treatments also take less time than Fraxel, since no dyes are needed to mark the skin. It can be used on the face, neck, and sagging areas of the body including upper arms, knees, stomach and inner thighs. I recommend a series of 3-5 treatments, depending on need, for an impressive outcome. After the last treatment, new collagen will be produced for an additional 4-6 months as an added bonus. For those who feel hesitant about the use of oral antibiotics or Accutane for treatment of Cystic Acne, now there is a new and successful alternative available. The Pulse Dye Laser can be used to clear up the large, red, painful cysts in a series of 3-4 treatments per area. If there is a flare in areas previously untreated, those have to be lasered in the same manner. Unlike Accutane, the laser cannot prevent future cysts, however eventually the areas repeatedly treated stop developing new ones. All this is accomplished without risking the potential side effects of Accutane or long term use of oral antibiotics.
